Welcome to our Tampa Bay Chapter Website! 

This year will mark the National Association of Black Accountants Inc., Tampa Bay Chapter’s 28th year anniversary.  This past year was very successful with our Chapter hosting the Annual Southern Region Planning Retreat.  The Retreat was not only attended by the Southern Region officers, the Presidents from all the Southern Chapters, but we also had the privilege of hosting our National President, Walter Smith, CPA, the incoming President, Calvin Harris Jr., CPA and our Executive Director, Gregory Johnson, CPA.  We kicked off this exciting weekend with our Annual Scholarship Banquet.   During the banquet, we not only issued several scholarships to deserving college students, we also honored our Corporate Sponsors:

What to Expect From Us This Year

The Tampa Bay Chapter kicked off our new year on July 1, 2010.  We held our annual planning session in June in anticipation of the endeavors the Chapter will be taking on this year  and to prepare us to continue to promote our national motto, “Lifting as We Climb”. Listings below are a few things you can expect from the Tampa Chapter this year:

Increase Membership: The Tampa Chapter will host one membership drive every three months at various locations in the Tampa Bay area. We hope to increase our membership by 50%. In addition the Chapter with host and co-host various networking events during the year, including the Annual Kick-Off scheduled for August 2010.

CPE Sessions: We intend to host one CPE Session every three months.  In addition, we will partner two additional CPE Sessions with Prudential.

Financial Planning:  We will host three Financial Planning Seminars, Managing Money for Youth, Money Sense for Adults and Money Sense for College.

Corporate Partnership: We will host two Corporate Partnership breakfast/lunch to introduce new Organizations to NABA. We look to increase our Partnership opportunities by 50%.

As you can see, we have a lot of great things to look forward to this year.  Please continue to check back on our web-site for specific dates and times for these exciting events.
